What is MeatSpaces?
We believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go.
So we’re building an open resource of all the places in London* where people who think like us can do their work. Places where you can sit down with your laptop and plug yourself in for the entire day, or just for a coffee.
Yes, MeatSpaces.com will tell you if a place has power sockets, free wifi, but also, how likely it is that you’ll have a screaming baby sat next to you, whether other people will be doing the same thing**, or if you’ll be the only person in the building.
We’ll also be reviewing the places who’d rather you didn’t bring your laptop along. You know the ones, the kind of place that brings you the bill because you’ve let 15 minutes elapse without ordering a coffee. We’ll let you know before it’s too late.
Ultimately, we want to end up being way more than a listings site. We’d like the people who work like us to shape what MeatSpaces turns into. That means encouraging connections between people who are using these spaces and generally hosting conversation around meatspace working. We’ve got some pretty exciting plans, and want you to be a part of it.
** We also want to be able to create these coincidences or mini coworking opportunities. If you’re in a space and happy to share a table with someone, or even want to find a collaborator on a project, MeatSpaces will enable and encourage it.
